Products/Services
Do I have to make my own copies or is there someone who can help me?
It depends on what you want. If you're familiar with our stores, or feel comfortable with copy machines in general, you can use one of our self-serve copiers and just pay at the front when you're done. Otherwise, just let one of our staff know, and they'll be willing to help you.
What types of paper do you offer?
From our black and white text weighted paper, to beautiful bright cardstock, we offer a variety of paper for you jobs to be printed on.
Will you match a sample I print out on my own printer, or a previously printed sample?
We want to make sure you – our customer – is satisfied. We will do our best to match the sample you bring us - whether from a computer print or a previously printed sample. When it comes to color copies - we work with you until you're satisfied with the results.
What's the largest poster size I can print?
The maximum printable width for large format is 35.5”. We can print up to 99.5” long. Keep in mind that we can only enlarge your original file up to 400%. We recommend 75 - 150 dpi of resolution at the final size (300 - 450 dpi at 25%).
What does DPI stand for?
Dots Per Inch. DPI is a measurement of printer resolution that defines how many dots of ink are placed on the page when the image is printed. The higher the resolution, the clearer your image will be.
Do you offer scanning services?
Yes we do!
How long will posters last outdoors?
They will last 3-5 months outside. Prints used indoors will rarely, if ever, fade.
What materials can you print posters on?
We offer photographic quality gloss paper; matte paper; and tyvec materials.
Do you offer proofs or samples?
Yes! We provide a proof of all copy and print jobs for customer sign-off. That way we ensure we agree on acceptable quality.
Do you offer over-sized laminating and mounting services?
Yes we do, we can laminate anything up to 20” wide and 60” long. We can also mount it for you, check store for details concerning mounting sizes available.
File Preparation
What file formats can you accept?
The best way to send us your file is as a PDF. We also accept tif, jpg, Photoshop (psd), Illustrator (ai), Excel (xls), Word (doc), eps, and bmp formats.
What types of storage media do you accept?
Floppy, CD, DVD or Zip disk.
What type of computer system do you work from?
We support anything that is done on a PC. We do not have the capabilities to accept anything in a Macintosh format.
What's the difference between saving a file at 72dpi versus 600 dpi?
If you want to reproduce an image the exact same size as the original, it doesn't matter what the dpi (dots per inch) of your file is - your copy will match exactly. However, if you want to enlarge it, you will lose quality the more the original has to expand the dpi to cover the page. The result is a pixilated or ‘fuzzy’ image. The higher the dpi the better quality you'll have in enlarged copies, so if you want a poster of over-sized copy, save your original file at the highest dpi available.
Can I upload or email my files to you?
Sure you can. In fact, we prefer to receive your files this way.
If I can't upload or email my files, how can I get my files to you?
We prefer to receive your files electronically (Floppy, CD, etc.). This way, it ensures better quality for you. However, if you don't have it electronically, we do accept hard copies.
Shipping Services
What kind of shipping services to do you offer?
Fed-Ex, UPS, and the Postal Service. We offer: First Class, Priority, International, Ground, Two or Three day, and even Overnight!
Is it more expensive to ship with Copy It…Mail It?
Surprisingly to many of our customers, we're always competitive with our shipping prices. We offer our customers the difference between three different carriers. This allows you to choose which one you want to ship with for the best price and quickest way to get it there. |
